Organization Mission

To serve as one voice for the U.S. engineering profession.

Founded in 1979, AAES is the U.S. federation for engineering and engineering-related professional societies. AAES’ strength is its ability to foster cross-disciplinary collaboration among its base of more than 1 million engineers. Through its working groups and focus areas, AAES is actively engaged in critical areas on both a domestic and global stage. AAES is recognized as the official U.S. representative to the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO). Current AAES Working Groups are: Diversity Coalition; Engineering Education; Engineering Forum on Sustainability; International Activities Committee; K-12 (STEM); Lifelong Learning; and Professional Licensure.
